A strong track record of superior equipment performance and project delivery, supported by competitive pricing, has seen TAKRAF India win a number of awards over the past year from existing customers, as well as attracting new clients.
A large Fortune 500 Indian multinational conglomerate and a repeat client, awarded 3 major Engineering, Supply and Supervision (ESS) contracts in 2020. These comprised 1 for a brownfields site at the Group’s cement works and 2 for the Group’s greenfields site.
The order for the cement works, received in December 2020, comprises a luffing stacker and bridge reclaimer for handling limestone.
In the first of the 2 orders for the greenfields site, TAKRAF India is supplying wagon-unloading equipment to handle gypsum. This includes a 1,600 t/h wagon tippler with a side arm charger, a wagon shifter and a wagon pusher, with capacity for 25 wagon tips per hour. The contract was awarded at the end of January 2020. In the third order, awarded in March 2020, a slewing stacker and a side scraper reclaimer are being supplied.
A leading cement brand and the largest producer of slag and speciality cement in India, contracted TAKRAF India to supply a bridge reclaimer for handling limestone at one of its works. This company is an existing client with the ESS contract for the brownfields site being placed in October 2020.
A first time client also placed an order for a 500 t/h slewing and luffing stacker for a large petrochemical plant for one of the largest petrochemical companies in India. The stacker was ordered under an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract in September 2020.
Lastly, an important client for the past 20 years and part of a large international cement conglomerate, contracted TAKRAF India for the design, engineering, supply, site erection supervision and commissioning of a material handling system for a greenfield cement project. The contract includes various luffing stackers, a bridge reclaimer, side scraper reclaimers, a wagon tippler, side arm chargers, apron feeder, sizer and an assortment of various conveyors.
Gopal Kalyanakrishnan, Managing Director TAKRAF India, had this to say upon confirming the company’s order intake for the past year: “Congratulations to our General Manager, Sales and his dedicated team, whose commitment and hard work resulted in these important project awards during a highly challenging year and against stiff global competition. We are especially proud that we continue to attract project awards from existing clients as this is testimony not only to the quality of our product and service delivery, but also to the exceptional and durable customer relationships we have built. Attracting new clients in such tough times is also a noteworthy achievement for which our sales team must also be commended.”
