Wagon Unloading
Wagon unloading systems often form part of complex bulk material handling systems.
Alongside individual machines, we also supply complete installations for the handling and storage of raw materials and other bulk goods. Our installations take care of unloading, storage, blending, sampling and reloading. Our unloading, storage and loading systems are always designed as custom solutions.
Our range of different wagon unloading systems
We design, fabricate and supply a wide-range of wagon unloading systems and equipment and our systems are all specifically designed to our client's requirements and incorporate various solutions according to their specific application, including actual site conditions and the minimizing of environmental impact.
System solutions for handling and transporting bulk materials
The employment of the latest techniques in planning, design and production ensures fast delivery. Alongside individual machines, we also supply complete installations for the handling and storage of raw materials and other bulk goods. We will advise you on-site to be able to take into account territorial specifics and regulations right from the start.
Flexible wagon unloading system solutions
Depending on requirements, various wagon unloading solutions can be employed including rotary tipplers, crescent-type tipplers and side-unloading tipplers and our systems are able to unload a train even when there are wagons of differing sizes. We also design and supply additional equipment such as train positioners, rail clamps and shifting platforms.
Multi-wagon rotary wagon tippler
- Single, tandem, triple or quadruple (2x tandem) wagon unloading
- C- type and O-type tippler design for fast duty cycles
- Nominal system capacity - 40 cycles per hour
- Tippler rotation operating time - approximately 35 seconds
- Wagons are rotated either about their own center of gravity (no lifting required) or about the coupler center (unit train) in order to unload
- Drive units are VFD-type and hence suitable for time cycle requirements
Side unloading wagon tippler
- Wagon rotated and lifted about central pivot to unload
- Nominal system capacity - 25 cycles per hour
- Minimum tippler rotation operating time - approximately 70 seconds
- Shallow civil works required as compared to rotary tipplers
- Drive units are VFD-type and hence suitable for time cycle requirements
Positioner / Indexer
- Employed for the handling of trains or uncoupled wagons to push and/or extract from the tippler
- Drive units are VFD-type and hence suitable for time cycle requirements and the handling of loads
- Rack and pinion type
- Design capable of pushing/pulling on center strikers or wagon corners
Wheel grippers or wheel stops
- Used to hold the train in position following completion of positioner forward motion cycles and after the positioner has disengaged itself from the train
- Used to isolate the tippler from any residual train forces during train operation
- Use to prevent separated unloading wagons from entering the tippler operating zone during wagon movement operations
Wagon unloading at ports
TAKRAF’s unloading, storage and loading systems for sea and river ports are always designed as custom solutions. TAKRAF’s port facilities are used throughout the world. With their high technical standards and state-of-the-art design, our systems satisfy the tough demands faced by modern ports.
TAKRAF’s product range includes:
- Ship to shore handling facilities using ship unloaders featuring grab operation and continuous handling
- Equipment for the continuous mechanical transport of bulk goods on land, including loading facilities
- Shore to ship handling facilities with mechanical slewing ship loaders featuring shuttle conveyors for sensitive bulk materials
