At TAKRAF, customer focus means tailoring our services to our growing client base, building and maintaining relationships that enable our customers to draw upon our engineers’ wealth of expertise and listening carefully to and taking account of our customers’ needs and wishes.
A recent launch to introduce the unique TAKRAF sizer technology for hard rock to the Australian market epitomized this approach. Led by Product Manager Comminution Conor Mitchell, a TAKRAF Australia team spent three weeks on the road visiting clients on site to introduce the TAKRAF Sizer to this important geographical market and highlight the technology’s latest developments and applications. Amongst these are the TAKRAF X-TREME Class Sizers for hard rock applications, the robust TAKRAF WolfRAM Armor and our specialized crushing tooth configurations.
Crossing Australia from west to east, TAKRAF held meetings and lunch & learn sessions in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, as well as in New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland. The positive client feedback underlined the importance of such initiatives, with customers commenting that the meetings cemented their understanding of the sizer technology, issues on site and welcoming the fact that TAKRAF produces its own sizers. A customer added that it was good to have “differences” on the market, while another customer complimented TAKRAF on the fact that this was the first ever learning / training session he had attended on sizer technology over his entire career.
The discussions were comprehensive, ranging from an introduction to TAKRAF, the company, and its long history of engagement in crushing plants, to a ‘101 course’ on basic sizer concepts, and a summary of the unique features of the TAKRAF Sizer that make it particularly suited to hard rock crushing. The lunch & learn sessions also provided a good opportunity to highlight the DELKOR liquid/solid separation range, providing customers with the comfort that TAKRAF is well positioned to provide them with a holistic, integrated mineral processing solution.
As the Australian team outlined to customers, apart from the superiority of the technology, TAKRAF Sizers offer numerous other benefits such as the fact that the design and fabrication is carried out at the TAKRAF Germany workshop, giving us tight control over the material, fabrication and scheduling. As a full-service provider, TAKRAF also supports the sizer with comprehensive support services, including process audits, retrofits and spare parts.
“Besides providing a useful platform from which to launch TAKRAF Sizer to the local market, the ‘road show’ had numerous other win-win outcomes. Listening first-hand to customer feedback enables us to assist them in achieving the best outcomes with their equipment. For example, we were able to improve the teeth overlay cost by working with the customer,” says Conor Mitchell, Product Manager Comminution at TAKRAF Group.
The Australian team also promoted the TAKRAF Sizer Day, which will be held on 25 September 2024 at the TAKRAF Product & Service Center in Lauchhammer, Germany.
