We are very proud to announce that DELKOR India was awarded the Prix du concours de l’enterprise-éco by the OCP/JESA joint venture (JV) for environmental good practice at the Projet de La Laverie Benguerir in Morocco. The OCP/JESA JV is currently developing a new phosphate washing plant in Benguerir, a town located 70 km from Marrakech, as part of the development of phosphate production at the Benguerir mine. As DELKOR, we are supplying an EPC package for a 45 m DELKOR thickener and flocculant system together with an advanced Industry 4.0 concept. The OCP Group is a Moroccan state-owned phosphate rock miner, phosphoric acid manufacturer and fertilizer producer.
In order to encourage environmental good practice and eco-friendly offices on site, the OCP/JESA JV conducted a series of monthly visits to all contractors’ offices and sites at the project, culminating in the competition and award of the prize to DELKOR India, in September 2022.
DELKOR India, with the assistance of its sub-contractor, installed a solar power unit for its site office and a reverse osmosis plant for treating the potable water it uses. It has also maintained a systematic segregation of waste and disposal of waste and safe chemical handling at site. This was considered by OCP/JESA as good practice for other contractors to follow at site.
Indu Bhushan Jha, DELKOR India Managing Director, had this to say regarding the recognition: “Congratulations to our site team on this notable achievement. It is a great honor to receive this recognition from such an important client and it is also an important acknowledgement of our steadfast commitment to minimizing our own environmental impact, as well as to assisting our clients meet their environmental targets. Well done and thank you to all stakeholders and we look forward to the next opportunity where we can contribute positively to matters.”
