As TAKRAF Group embarks on its 300th anniversary in 2025, we are also proud to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our new factory in Lauchhammer. Inaugurated in December 1994, this facility was a symbol of progress and renewal in its early days and has since become a vital hub for innovation and excellence.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Manfred Stolpe, then Prime Minister of the State of Brandenburg, called the "New Lauchhammer Factory" a "signal for Lusatia." Just one year later, the new production facility was inaugurated—a feat that underscored the remarkable dynamism of that period. These developments brought hope and optimism amidst the widespread deindustrialization of East Germany, serving as a powerful symbol of resilience.

Since its opening in December 1994, this facility has been at the forefront of providing state-of-the-art products and services. Over the years, the new factory has produced equipment for projects ranging from bucket wheels and slew bearings to advanced gearboxes and belt pulleys. In 2011, the fundamental transformation from a provider of manufacturing services to a provider of products and related spare and wear parts began. The confidence that this could be done was based on the positive experience with the development of the above-mentioned special gearboxes and belt pulleys. During this time, the first Sizer was built in Lauchhammer, and it soon became evident that comminution equipment would be a perfect addition to the portfolio and would also offer long-term potential for spare and wear parts.

The integration of the new factory into the recently established "TAKRAF Product & Service Center", which combines all the necessary operational functions from sales to engineering, purchasing, production, logistics and service, marks a milestone in the transformation from manufacturer to product provider.

From its origins as an integrated heavy steel fabrication plant to its evolution into a modern Product & Service Center, the plant is an example of resilience, innovation and adaptability. As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our gratitude to the employees, past and present, who have contributed to its success. Together, we look forward to continuing this legacy of excellence into the next chapter of TAKRAF Group’s history.

Innovation out of tradition – It pays to talk to a specialist!
